There's also a ferry that goes from Phuket to Ao Nang once a day. We're most interested in outdoor rock climbing (with a guide), scuba & snorkel, hiking (would love to plan an excursion to Khao Sok National Park), and caving. Do the monkey trail, you end up at a resort where you can hang out and drink cocktails and watch an idyllic sunset right next to the mountain that stretches out into the sea, the one you can see at Ao Nang beach. I prefer a private ride but you can split the boat with other travelers at the end of Ao nang beach. Landmark is a nice night market. My only concern is the relentless sounds of motorboats going to and from Railay that I've witnessed on YouTube videos. Meanwhile, an old acquaintance has been posting Tonsai climbing pictures the last two weeks. So if relaxing is what you're after in the area, Railay is the place to be.
